Rich Christensen On the Way Back for ‘Armdrop Live’ Race

MEMPHIS – Rich Christensen believes in the old adage “give ’em what they want.” After the runaway success of his TV show PINKS All Out and the new ‘Armdrop Live’ competition, Christensen will be combining the best of both events at Memphis Motorsports Park on Sept. 25-26.

Armdrop Live. The name says it’s all – live, up close and personal. No TV cameras to slow him down. Just Rich, the racers and the fans at Memphis Motorsports Park again this fall.

“Rich wants you to shoot the video,” explained Armdrop Racing president Brian Bossone. “You’re the camera crew for this production – then YouTube it! We designed this event just for your entertainment, so not only can you watch great racing action, you can experience Rich doing his thing in person.”

The overriding premise of ‘Armdrop Live’ mirrors PINKS All Out – everyone can enter, and anyone can win.

“But the cash prize – up to $ 10,000 – will be awarded at Rich’s discretion among several classes of competitors, meaning lots of racers will have a chance at the money,” Bossone explained. “This is not like PINKS All Out where one racer wins it all.”

In addition to the cash prize, Rich will also be awarding up to three lucky drivers the NAPA Quick Pass, an entry into a PINKS All Out event in 2010!

The difference in the two events is obvious in the pits, too.

Door cars, bikes, quads, front engine dragsters, rear engine dragsters, snowmobiles – anything goes at ‘Armdrop Live’ as long as it can cover the quarter-mile in less than 14 seconds. How’s that for a new twist on bracket racing, with a heads-up format that utilizes the iconic drop of Christensen’s arms to determine the best racer on a given day. That day is Saturday, Sept. 26.
